988: Three-digit dialing code for Suicide and Crisis Lifeline goes live Saturday

On July 16, 2022, callers can dial 988 to connect to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline’s (the Lifeline) network of highly trained call center professionals. Those in Alaska who dial from a 907 area code will connect to Careline Alaska, where trained crisis counselors can provide confidential support 24 hours, 7 days a week.

In 2011, a group of ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ alumni and friends established the LGBT Friends and Allies Scholarship. This ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ scholarship is the only one of its kind in the University of Alaska system.
