Growing up surrounded by the pristine waters of Southeast Alaska, MBA student Cassidy Patton dreamed of a career at sea. Initially envisioning a career as a fisherwoman, she faced challenges navigating a traditionally male-dominated field. A conversation introduced her to the concept of a maritime academy—a revelation that changed the trajectory of her life.

Throughout academic history, honor societies have held a prestigious place, acknowledging students for their academic excellence, leadership abilities, and community contributions. At the ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ College of Business and Security Management, Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) and the Order of the Sword and Shield (OSS) stand as proud examples.

On April 20th, the Westmark Hotel was abuzz with excitement as the ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ College of Business and Security Management hosted the annual ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ Arctic Innovation Competition (AIC). Thirteen top competitors demonstrated the transformative power of innovation throughout the day. AIC attracts competitors of all ages and showcases a diverse array of innovations, including inventions, designs, apps, and start-ups.
