Dear students,Ìý

Welcome to the fall semester! I hope everyone enjoyed their summer and is ready to hit the ground running this fall. Whether this is your first semester as a student or you are returning to ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ to pursue your degree, thank you for choosing ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½. We are glad you are here.Ìý

At New Student Orientation last week, I shared my number one tip for being successful in college: show up. That is, get engaged in the breadth of activities available to you at ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½. This semester, I encourage you to focus on showing up. Not just for your classes, though that is critical, but for yourself and others. Cheer on the Alaska Nanooks at an athletics game, join a club, and find your community. Ask for help when you need it. Our staff and faculty are here to support you.

I hope that whether you are studying on one of our campuses or via distance you make the most of your ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ experience. Best of luck for an excellent semester.

Thank you for choosing ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½.

— Dan White, chancellor
