Just as society's needs are changing due to climate change, technological advances, resource scarcity and social changes, the approaches we use to create those products and processes must also change. Indeed, the discipline of engineering itself must change. ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½'s College of Engineering and Mines is hastening that change by creating Alaska's engineering workforce of tomorrow.


ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ names fall 2022 honors students

ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ has announced the students named to the deans' and chancellor's lists for the fall 2022 semester. Students receiving a 3.9 grade point average or higher are placed on the chancellor's list, while those receiving a grade point average of between 3.5 and 3.89 are named to the deans' list.


Leading at Level - Leadership Courses specific for your needs

ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ Administrative Services, in partnership with The HumanLink, is offering four leadership courses: Leading at Level: Leadership Courses Specific for your Needs. Courses will be open to participants campus-wide and will be delivered in-person on the Troth Yeddha' Campus in Fairbanks. Prior to submitting yourÌýÌýfor consideration, please be sure you have the support of your supervisor and are available to attend in person on the specified course dates. Please follow UA travel approval procedures, if applicable. :ÌýApril 21, 2023
* To help make these courses more accessible, 50% of the program fee for ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ units will be covered by Administrative Services.

Deadlines and reminders


Open Enrollment - Your action is required!

Open Enrollment will run from April 17 to May 5, 2023. All benefit-eligible employees must complete an Open Enrollment form this year. If a benefit-eligible employee does not submit an Open Enrollment form, they will be defaulted into a plan. Please review the under section 2 "Changes for FY24" to understand the default and all other changes for this year's Open Enrollment.

ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ Native Games team receives Overall College Team award in Juneau Traditional Games event

The ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ Native Games team traveled to Juneau for the sixth annual Traditional Games event April 1-2. It is a mixed event where middle school, high school, and college students can compete in, as well as the public. The UAA and UAS teams were also there to compete. ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ team members won multiple individual awards as well as the Overall College Team award!
